A Prince Over a United Israel [Introduction]
The Book of Numbers instructs us that the leaders of the Twelve Tribes of Israel are as Princes over the 12 Tribes.
It’s not until we come across the Vision of Ezekiel’s Millennial Temple that we see a Prince in charge over a whole nation and indeed the Temple as a whole as described in the vision. This Prince is going to be the First Prince over a united Israel since the reign of King Solomon.
Though the country had been carved up and divided with Judah in the south and Israel in the north, 3000 years would have to pass before the Nation of Israel would finally be a unified land again. Ezekiel reveals this vision of the unification of the land [in which this Prince will serve] in an earlier vision, whereby this unification is taking place on Israel’s [the people's] return to the Land [Israel], and a David like character is raised up to shepherd those [Judah andIsrael] in that land [of Israel] as one flock and as one people. This has not happened yet, and does not occur until the King of Babylons destruction.
But who is this Prince of Ezekiel’s Vision?
Isaiah gives us an idea who this person might be when he [Ezekiel] talks about the future ruler of God’s [Yahweh’s] Kingdom. The Prince that Isaiah speaks of is one that would be a Prince of Peace, and upon whose shoulders Government will be [Isaiah 9:6].
Ezekiel says that this Prince has sons [doesn’t say he is Married] and this Prince is also an Eternal Father (of the Ages Still to Come). Though this Eternal Father is also a Mighty God (valiant warrior), he is not God the Almighty, because he [the Prince] eats Bread in the presence of God the Almighty in the Temple, and while this Prince is someone who is an Eternal Father, he is Eternal, but only over that of the New Creation which is still to come. According to Hebrew thinking, when one inherits something, he becomes the Father of what he is inheriting.

The Prince also owns a great deal of property [outside the Temple Area]. The Prince can give freely of what he has, but the Priests cannot.
Ezekiel 34:24
The Prince mentioned here appears to refer to David, but when Ezekiel had penned these words, David was since long dead and gone, so what we have here seems to be a prophecy relating to either King David or [someone] of his Royal Bloodline that will be this Prince in the Millennial Temple of the Future.
Ezekiel Chapter 40
This is the beginning of the vision relating to this Millennial Temple, and this vision continues until the end of the book.
Ezekiel 44:3
The Prince in this vision is the only one who may sit inside to eat in the very presence of God[Yahweh]. This Prince must be someone very special indeed whereby he is allowed to sit and eat in the very presence of God [Yahweh] or [Jehovah]. In Daniel Chapter 7, we see someone [like the Son of Man] who is brought up close to the Ancient of Days [Yahweh]. No man can see God and yet live, yet this Prince who is a living, breathing, walking and talking man sits in the presence of God [Yahweh]. Maybe now the picture is becoming clearer who this Prince might be.
The Prince and People Enter and Exit by Different Gates
While the people must enter in and exit out of different gates [which we will come to] the Prince is to enter in and is to exit out by way of the portico of the gateway from which he came in. The East Gate is only entered into and exited out of when the Prince makes a free will offering.
Ezekiel 45:7-8
The land of Israel has been given to him. The Levites and sons of Aaron received no such inheritance of land. But, the Prince is seen receiving special land rights that include all the land surrounding. He virtually gets to own the whole city.
Ezekiel 45:16-17
The Prince appears to serve in the position of High Priest [to make atonement for the House of Israel].
Ezekiel 45:22
The Prince also provides a [free will] sin offering, not only for himself, but for the whole of Israel as well [on the first day of the Passover].
Ezekiel 46
God [Yahweh] says that, the gate of the inner court facing east is to be shut on the six working days but on the Sabbath and on the day of the New Moon the gate is to be opened.
Ezekiel 46:2-3
The Prince is to enter from the outside through the portico of the gateway and stand by the gatepost. The priests are to sacrifice his burnt offering and his fellowship offerings.
The Prince is to worship at the threshold of the gateway and then go out, but the gate will not be shut until evening.
On the future Sabbaths and New Moons the people of the land are to worship in the presence of the Yahweh at the entrance to that gateway, but only when the Prince is there. It is only after the door has been opened for the Prince that the sacrifices [that the Prince brings with him] will then be offered up to the Yahweh. Remember, he is the Mediator between Man and God.
The Prince makes [freewill] offerings for sin [burnt offerings]. After the Prince has done this and after has rendered the sacrifices, which the Priests carry out for him, he [the Prince] then leaves [out the way from which he came in].
