We are not saying that Assad is the Assyrian Antichrist. But, he could be the 1st King of the North/Babylon/Assyria. The Antichrist would be the 3rd in Line, the 3rd King of the North/Assyria/Babylon.
Assad has 3 Children. He has two sons (Hafez Al Assad and Karim Al Assad) and one daughter (Zein Al Assad). If Assad were to be the 1st King of the North, then he will give his daughter to the King of the South (Egypt) in an alliance made through Marriage (Daniel 11:6).
This marriage, like the one arranged between Egypt and Assyria later (Daniel 11:17), is all about bringing each other to ruin so as to rule absolutely. The Marriage is part of a Political Alliance.
Assad's' daughters’ son would grow up to fight against him (Assad) the 1st King of the North (Assyria) after Egypt has become strong, this would occur over many years in a series of 8 battles.

The King of the North/The Assyrian
If Assad were to be the 1st King of the North, his length of rule is unknown (Daniel 11:5-19). He has two sons, 1) the 1st would rule a few days only(Daniel 11:19) and then 2) the 2nd would not only be successful in battle (Daniel 11:10), but rule from after 1st son until the end of the age, until the coming of the Messiah (Daniel 11:20-45) this being the 3rd and Final King of the North/Assyria/Babylon (aka the Assyrian Antichrist). He would also have to have connections to Lebanon.
The Kingdom of God: Prophecies of Daniel
The 3rd and Final King of the North/Assyria/Babylon is likened to Antiochus Epiphanies the Syrian Governor whereby he may kill his father and brother to ascend to power, and then come upon Israel to try and destroy it.
Coincidence or What?
This is not absolute, only food for thought. But, how coincidental that 1)Assyria is rising now, 2) Assad fits the description, and 3) has 3 children 4) the others in the Arab Union wish him to rule 5) his land is one that was, was not, and yet has become again 6) he has killed his own people Isaiah 14:20
But, for it to be absolute, the 3rd in line from Assad must be a Jew, and involved not only in Politics and the Military, but also Religion to boot.
While the Assyrian Antichrist is Jewish and involved in Religion, he is also Political. His PR Man the False Prophet is from Israel (epi tes ges/επι της γης) is a Political Man that is Religious. The Assyrian Antichrist's name must add up to 666

Only Food for Thought
But, What if?
But, What if?
This is only food for thought, and shows why we must be watching Middle Eastern Events as opposed to Western ones, for this is where it is all going to happen when it all kicks off for real, and Iran, Iraq, Israel and Assyria are the ones we should be watching closely.
Babylon in Bible Prophecy
Assad is 52, we should be watching how things turn out over the next 20 years or so, in Assyria. The Land of Assyria has almost been totally destroyed by War. But, the Bible speaks of its revival/resurrection (Revelation 13:1-3), whereby it was a land that was, was not, and will be again.
The Rebuilding of Babylon
We must also watch especially with the rebuilding of Babylon in Iraq, which is still far from being complete, and having the glory that Bible speaks of that it will have, before it is destroyed in the fashion of Sodom and Gomorrah.
But, before all of this happens, there still must be the West/East Face Off War between Greece (the West) and the Ram of the East (Modern Day Iran) that will lead to the fall of Iran, and eventual fall of the West (Daniel 8:8), and the Rise of the Middle East as the Last World Power (Daniel 7:7 and 11:5-45) before God's Kingdom Comes. While Greece (Alexander) may have (historically) fought Assyria (Darius) at a localised level, there is nothing documented that this has ever happened on a World Wide scale as documented in Scripture.
Iran will begin this rapidly oncoming war by striking towards the North, Southand the West (Daniel 8:4), the West responds by rising up from the whole World (Daniel 8:5). Whenever the North, South, East and West is mentioned in Scripture, it is always with reference to Jerusalem, with Jerusalem beingcentral point of reference.
After the Great Tribulation, the Jews will then return to Israel (from all over the Middle East) especially from Assyria and Egypt. This will be coinciding with 1) the destruction of the Assyrian 2) on the Messiah's return.
